 President Samia Revokes Appointments of Cabinet Ministers

New Ministerial Appointments

  • Nape Nnauye and January Makamba
  • President Samia has revoked their appointments as cabinet ministers.
  • Jerry Silaa: Appointed as the new Minister for Information, Communication, and Information Technology.
  • Mahmoud Thabit Kombo: Appointed as the new Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation.

Additional Appointments

  • Ambassador Kombo: Nominated as a Member of Parliament. Previously, he was Tanzania's representative in Italy.
  • Cosato Chumi: Named Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, replacing Ambassador Mbarouk Nassor Mbarouk who will take on other duties.

Other Ministerial Changes

  • Deogratius Ndejembi: Appointed as the new Minister of Lands, Housing, and Human Settlements, replacing Jerry Silaa.
  • Ridhiwan Kikwete: Named Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (Labour, Employment, Youth, and Persons with Disability).


  • State House Announcement: The changes were announced in a press statement issued on Sunday night, July 21, 2024.
  • Purpose: These appointments fill the vacancies left by the previous ministers and reassign key roles within the government.
